Little Sally Rachet Oh, little Sally Rachet, (Haul 'em away!) She pawned me brand new jacket; (Haul 'em away!) Sold the ticket. (Haul 'em away!) To me holly hiro (Haul 'em away!) Little Katie Riddle, [Chorus continues as above] She broke me brand new fiddle; Has a hole right up the middle. Oh, little flubbin' Anna, She slipped on a banana, And now she can't play the pi-ana. Oh, little Suzy Skinner, She says she's a beginner, But she prefers it to her dinner. And little Kimmy Larson, She's married to the Parson, 'Cause they had a little barson. Little Penny Taylor Swore she'd never touch a sailor: She got harpooned by a whaler! And little Nancy Tucket, She washes in a bucket. She's a whore, but she don't look it. Let's get out me fighting cocks now, (Haul 'em away!) Let's get up and split them blocks now, (Haul 'em away!) And it's huff boys, and puff boys, (Haul 'em away!) And now that'll be enough, boys -- (HAUL 'EM AWAY!)

Adieu, sweet lovely Nancy, ten thousand times adieu I'm a-going round the ocean, love, to seek for something new Come change your ring with me, dear girl, come change your ring with me, For it might be a token of true love while I am on the sea. When I am far upon the sea, you knows not where I am Kind letters I will write to you from every foreign land The secrets of your heart, dear girl, are the best of my good will So let my body be where it might, my heart is with you still. But when the wars are over, there'll be peace on every shore We will drink to our wives and our children, and the girls that we adore We'll call for liquor merrily, and spend out money free And when the money it is all gone, we'll boldly go to sea. So adieu, sweet lovely Nancy, ten thousand times adieu I'm a-going round the ocean, love, to seek for something new Come change your ring with me, dear girl, come change your ring with me, For it might be a token of true love while I am on the sea.

Dans la prison de Londres
Tam tiddle-attle dom, ta dum tam tiddle-attle dom

There was a lord in the north country Who courted a lady gay As they were riding side by side A wager he did lay “I will wager you, my love, A hundred pounds to your one That a maid you'll go to the Broomfield Hill And a maid you'll ne'er return.” As she sat in her own bower door It's there she made a moan Saying, "Should I go to the Broomfield Hill Or should I stay at home?" Oh up and spoke an old witch woman As she sat all alone Saying, “You may go to the Broomfield Hill And yet a maid return.” “For when you get to the Broomfield Hill You'll find your lover asleep With his hawk and his hound and his good grey mare And to him you will creep,” “And you'll pick the blossoms from off the broom The blossom that smells so sweet And you’ll strew them around his head and feet The sounder will he sleep.” So she's gone up the Broomfield Hill And she’s found her lover asleep And gently, gently she’s kissed his lips Which were so red and sweet. And she's picked the blossoms from off the broom The blossom that smells so sweet And she’s laid some down at the crown of his head And more at the sole of his feet And she's pulled off her golden ring Placed it in his right hand All for to let her true love know That she'd been there and gone “Oh, where were you, my noble hawk And where were you, my steed And where were you, my good greyhound Why did you not waken me?” “Oh I clapped with my wings, master, And all my bells I rang But I could not waken you in time Before your lady ran!” “Sleep more in the night, Master, And sleep less in the day. Then you might see when your love comes And when she goes away!” There was a lord in the north country Who courted a lady gay As they were riding side by side A wager he did lay Oh, bitter did that lady weep When first came to the hill But laughing came she down again For the wager she did win!
